Born and bred in Malaysia, schooled in Australia, temporarily based in London and until recently a short-term New Yorker, I now live in a tiny one-bedder next to a vast sea in Sydney. My passions are travel and writing, with a sideline interest in photography. I have visited over 30 countries on all continents, accompanied by my trusty Nikon D40 and 18-135mm lens/35mm prime lens, and I have plans for at least another 30 more.
I’m not sure if I’m a traveller who loves to write or a writer who loves to travel, but either way, this blog gives me an outlet to marry both loves. It is a personal travel diary, a receptacle of memories, a travel resource and hopefully, if I’m doing it right, an inspiration to others to take to the open road with me.

After all I red about you, I can honestly say that I don’t know any other person with so much courage and so much love for life.I am convinced that is not easy but as long as you do what you like, you must feel the satisfaction of your facts, as you deserve. Good for you!
We stumbled over here different page and thought I should check things out. I like what I see so now i’m following you. Look forward to checking out your web page repeatedly.
You’re quite the traveler! I’m jealous. I’ve been to a number of places in South America, but Australia has eluded me so far. Looking forward to reading more of your posts!
Hey Kevin, just tried to get to your page, but looks like your domain may not have been renewed? Wanted to wish you a happy new year! 🙂
Somehow that got posted with an outdated link. Should be fixed now. Thanks for the thought though! Right back at you. Looking forward to sharing each others’ adventures.
Thanks for all your visits to my blog so far. … I’m looking forward to my first visit to Sydney, Australia in the next few weeks … I hear it’s quite beautiful. … Look forward to reading about your travels … Dorothy 🙂
Beautiful site, Dorothy –
And we share a common love – Shakespeare and “Shakespeare”!
Kind regards,
I’m lost in amazement – and admiration – at all you’ve done, Peggy.
(and what a fascinating site you’ve designed.)
PS: Incidentally, being a mere beginner at this, I haven’t a clue how the above message got on your page! My sincere apologies! I expect it was Dingo’s fault!
You’re too kind Thurstan! I am glad you are enjoying the site. Lol, poor Dingo, yes I expect it was his fault – I hope you navigated to Dorothy’s site and posted this message so that she could see it though?
Really nice blog. I love your sense of adventure. You seem fearless…in a good way!
There’s nothing to fear but fear itself, they say! Thanks for stopping by.
Great Blog, I realy enjoyed reading about your adventures in my new home of Peru. My wife and I love to travel and I am sure as I go through some of your other posts, that I will find some new places to visit.
Thank you! Wow you live in Peru?! That’s so awesome. Which part, y hablas espanol? Happy travels!
Just outside of Cusco, My wife and I moved here in August and opened a Bed and Breakfast in September. It is amazing how many ruins there are here, we generally reserve Sundays for exploring and are always finding some kind of old Incan site. Still working on my Spanish by the way.
You’ve lived a lot of places! I do notice that you don’t have South Australia under your Roads Taken. An observation only someone from SA would make!! I can certainly point you in the direction of some fabulous places down here if you would like to add it to your list 🙂
I’ve been to Adelaide, but would love to go again! And explore the Barossa Valley as well. Will hit you up for suggestions when we go! 🙂 Thanks!
Thank you for checking out my blog and giving me the chance to check out yours! It looks like you have had some incredible adventures, and have been to so many places on my bucket list! Look forward to reading more from you
Love your blog! So many places to discover 😀 Have you ever had the chance to visit Russia? I have a blog about Russia, so you can stop by whenever you feel like, love.
No, haven’t been to Russia, but would absolutely love to go! Look behind, I’m following you! 😉
You’re amazing! Honestly, there’s no other way to put it. You make what I’ve done so far look like child’s play! We definitely seem like kindred spirits, and I love reading about other people’s adventures, of which you seem to have many!
What a great marriage you have
made of travel and writing and the offspring of photography makes the family complete
Your blog is awesome! And so are your pictures! Have you ever thought of doing microstock? That’s what I’m doing now and it’s a great way to earn a little extra money on the side!
Thank you for your kind words! I must check microstock out! Thanks for the tip.
