About Me

39438_480998861525_6579385_n

Born and bred in Malaysia, schooled in Australia, temporarily based in London and until recently a short-term New Yorker, I now live in a tiny one-bedder next to a vast sea in Sydney. My passions are travel and writing, with a sideline interest in photography. I have visited over 30 countries on all continents, accompanied by my trusty Nikon D40 and 18-135mm lens/35mm prime lens, and I have plans for at least another 30 more.

I’m not sure if I’m a traveller who loves to write or a writer who loves to travel, but either way, this blog gives me an outlet to marry both loves. It is a personal travel diary, a receptacle of memories, a travel resource and hopefully, if I’m doing it right, an inspiration to others to take to the open road with me.

(and what a fascinating site you’ve designed.)
PS: Incidentally, being a mere beginner at this, I haven’t a clue how the above message got on your page! My sincere apologies! I expect it was Dingo’s fault!

      • You’re too kind Thurstan! I am glad you are enjoying the site. Lol, poor Dingo, yes I expect it was his fault – I hope you navigated to Dorothy’s site and posted this message so that she could see it though?

  5. Great Blog, I realy enjoyed reading about your adventures in my new home of Peru. My wife and I love to travel and I am sure as I go through some of your other posts, that I will find some new places to visit.

      • Just outside of Cusco, My wife and I moved here in August and opened a Bed and Breakfast in September. It is amazing how many ruins there are here, we generally reserve Sundays for exploring and are always finding some kind of old Incan site. Still working on my Spanish by the way.

  6. You’ve lived a lot of places! I do notice that you don’t have South Australia under your Roads Taken. An observation only someone from SA would make!! I can certainly point you in the direction of some fabulous places down here if you would like to add it to your list 🙂

  9. Your blog is awesome! And so are your pictures! Have you ever thought of doing microstock? That’s what I’m doing now and it’s a great way to earn a little extra money on the side!
